Have you ever been in the situation of needing an RV tech? Earlier this year, the RV Technical Institute unveiled its “Find a Certified Technician” Map, a resource built for RV owners to find a proficient, certified RV tech when those unseemly problems arise. MARVAC touched base with Monika Geraci, spokesperson for the RVTI, about this new feature and how it is useful for leading RV owners to repair companies with the necessary skills to help get that RV back to the campground.

Why did the RVTI decide to launch the “Find a Certified Technician” Map?

“With over 7,000 RV technicians who have been certified by the RV Technical Institute, we wanted to make it easy for RVers to find a certified technician to work on their RV,” explains Geraci. “This map feature positions these locations as the premier destinations for RV service and repairs and directly benefits the RV customer and industry alike, especially the 1,000 RV dealer locations and service providers who have championed the RV Technical Institute by employing certified technicians.

“This is just the first step to make it easier for RVers to find a certified technician. Stay tuned for more updates later this summer!”

What were the main must-have features for this map?

“We wanted there to be a search feature as well as a clean and easy-to-use interface. The results allow you to see the name of the business as well as quick links to get directions and visit the company website. By listing business addresses, websites, and contact information, the map simplifies the process of finding qualified service providers. This means more visibility for dealerships, service centers, or mobile tech operations,” Geraci describes.

What are the benefits for RVers?

As we know, “RVs come in various styles, from motorhomes to travel trailers, each with its own unique systems and components. When an RV needs service or repairs, it’s important to find a qualified technician who can ensure the vehicle is in good hands,” says Geraci. “One of the most important factors to consider when hiring an RV technician is their certification. The RV Technical Institute offers the only nationally recognized certification for RV technicians, with a curriculum built in tandem with the manufacturers of RVs and their component parts, ensuring they have the necessary skills and knowledge.”

Why is it important for RVers to know that RVTI techs are available at these locations?

“Technicians who have completed the program have demonstrated their expertise in RV systems, maintenance, diagnostics, and repair. Whether an RV owner is experiencing a minor issue or in need of comprehensive service, the RV Technical Institute’s network of trusted professionals ensures the RV is in expert hands, giving customers peace of mind to enjoy their adventures. For companies that have invested in RVTI training, whether directly through the Institute or Authorized Learning Partnerships, this feature highlights the commitment to excellence and dedication to providing top-tier service,” explains Geraci.
