tailgating-food-in-an-RVWe Michiganders love our sports team—not just the game, but the fun of good RV tailgating! An RV takes tailgating to a whole new level. There’s no need to worry about the ice in your cooler melting or finding a place to heat up your snacks. You’ll have a roof over your head in rain or shine, and you’ll never again stand in line to use a public restroom!

If your team is known for attracting huge tailgate crowds, it’s best to make reservations at a nearby campground for your overnight stay. Chances are RV tailgating sites will be more plentiful than hotel rooms on the big game weekend.

    • Get to the stadium early to snag a prime parking space. Look for a spot beside the grass or at the end of the row. That way, you’ll have plenty of room to open your awning and set out chairs.
    • Turning on your RV fridge/freezer before the big game will keep your food fresh and your drinks cold. Whatever you decide to eat, have it ready an hour or two before the game begins. This will give you time to eat and stash leftovers in the fridge before you head into the stadium.
    • Fly the school flag, or some other flag, from the RV roof so friends and fellow alumni can find you.

Entertain guests by showing football highlights or past triumphs on your onboard Satellite TV and DVR. After the game, relax with friends and watch post-game highlights as you let the stadium traffic die down.

  • Don’t forget to leave your spot clean at the end of the day.
