Halloween season is upon us, and Michigan is booming with activity. All around the state small towns and local businesses are hosting events for the families to enjoy a fright-less evening of fun. So grab the kids, load up the car, and make your way to one – or all – of these spooktacular events!

 

Gilmore Car Museum’s 6th Annual Spooktacular Fundraiser

Where: Gilmore Car Museum, 6865 W Hickory Rd., Hickory Corners, MI 49060

When: October 27, 2016: 4pm-7pm

Event: Bring the whole family for an exciting evening at the country’s largest car museum! This sprawling estate – equipped with a retro dinner and train depot – will surely wow adults and children alike! Children under 12 can show off their costumes as they trunk-or-treat throughout the galleries!

Admission: Adults $5.00, Children 12 and under Free

 

Glow in the Park Party

Where: Beery Field, South Main Street, Douglas, MI 4906

When: October 28, 2016: 7pm-10pm

Event: Dress your family in your best glow-in-the-dark garb and make your way to Douglas, Michigan, to celebrate Halloween in style! Child-friendly events, music, food, and face painting all make for a memorable night that the whole family will enjoy. Don’t have glow-in-the-dark clothes? No problem. There will be booths selling plenty of merchandise!

Crystal Mountain’s Spooktacular Saturday

Where: Crystal Mountain, 12500 Crystal Mountain Dr., Thompsonville, Michigan 49683

When: October 15, 2016: 2pm-6pm, 7pm-9pm

Event: Crystal Mountain offers families a day full of fall fun! From wagon rides to pumpkin carving, and burlap races to spooky trail walks, Crystal Mountain offers it all! Your children will love the endless activities and while adults can bask in the beauty of an autumn day in Northern Michigan.

Admission: Spooky Trail Walk $7 for ages 7 and up, 6 and under Free

 

The Great ZooBoo

Where: Binder Park Zoo, 7400 Division Drive, Battle Creek, MI 49014

When: October 19-30, 2016; Wednesday – Friday 5pm-8pm; Saturday & Sunday 1pm-8pm

Event: Binder Park’s ZooBoo is a can’t miss event this Halloween season. Packed full of kid-friendly holiday activities such as mini golf, trick-or-treating, and hay rides, this trip to the Zoo will be truly unforgettable. As an added benefit, ZooBoo is also the park’s largest fundraiser of the year, and your participation helps them to care for the animals all winter long. And be sure to bring a carved or decorated pumpkin for a dollar off admission!

Frankenmuth’s Scarecrow Fest

Where: Frankenmuth River Place Shops, 925 S. Main Street, Frankenmuth, MI 48734

When: October 15-16 & 22-23, 2016: 12pm-6pm

Event: Have you ever seen a pumpkin catapult in real life? Or how about high-flying K-9’s? If not, here’s your chance! Frankenmuth is hosting one heck of a Halloween party this year – and you have four opportunities to see it all for yourself! And the best part, it’s a dog-friendly event. So dress your pup in their cutest costume and head to Frankenmuth for a fun-filled experience.

Village of Pinckney Spooktacular

Where: Downtown Pinckney, Pinckney, MI 48169

When: October 28, 2016: 6pm-8pm

Event: If you find yourself near the quant town of Pinckney, northwest of Ann Arbor, be sure to stop by their annual Spooktacular. Free for all ages, families can participate in a costume contest, traverse the spooky forest, and trunk-or-treat!
