Stand Up Paddleboard:
The SUP will race the same triangle course as the Kayak portion of the Adventure Triathlon (see map below). Timing will be done via a timing chip for accuracy. First place awards only for this event in all age groups for both male and female categories.
SUP Age groups are as follows:
15-25 | 26-35 | 36-45 | 46-55 | 55 & over
The starting line is on the beach between two flags Contestants carry their boards and paddles. All categories start at the same time. Your start and finish will be recorded as you go through the start/finish line.
The overtaking paddler must stay clear. The overtaken paddler must take its ideal course to not hinder the over taker.
A competitor must be standing while paddling on the course from the start line until crossing over the finish line. A competitor is allowed to sit, lay, or kneel only for resting during a race. Once a competitor takes more than five strokes while sitting, laying or kneeling during the race, this competitor is disqualified in the race and shall receive DNF. The exception to the Standing Only rule is for any safety reasons where a competitor needs to avoid a potentially dangerous situation. In this case, he cold not receive any benefit for the race ranking resulting from this situation.
The finish is on the beach marked with flags. The paddler must take his paddle over the line.
THE USE OF A LEASH IS MANDATORY.
Kids Fun Run:
This race lets everyone in on the fun! These age appropriate distances provide fun for the racers and great photo ops for parents and grandparents. Start the running flame in your future Olympian. All racers receive a runners bib and a “finishers medal.” The Kids Fun Run and events are free.
5K Run/Walk: Certified distance by the USTF
The 5K event was an original part of the race, was dropped, and then added back into the mix in 1999. It continues to be the race with the largest field. This event is popular for area cross country teams to test their runners against runners from around the state.

2016 marks the 44th running of the “Cadillac Labor Day 10K,” the longest continually held 10K race in Michigan. In the past, the race has served as the State Championship race for the Road Runners of America, Michigan chapter.
