Foodie
The Detroit area has blossomed into a food-lover’s paradise. Casual eateries and high-end dining spots seem to be popping up in every corner of the city, offering enticing options for even the pickiest of palates.
Grey Ghost Detroit offers a selection of tantalizing and unusual entrees and appetizers, such as octopus putanesca or fried bologna and waffles with sharp cheddar and jalapeno. Or, keep it traditional with a dry-aged New York strip. Grey Ghost is open seven days a week and features a creative cocktail list.
Chartreuse Kitchen & Cocktails is another not-to-be-missed dining experience. The menu is different each day and features fresh local ingredients and plenty of inspired flavors. Guests might find dishes like spare ribs with raspberry sweet and sour or sockeye salmon with cucumber, charred chive, and yogurt.
Dog Owner
Take your dog to the Orion Oaks Dog Park in Waterford and turn them loose in the 24-acre fenced dog park. This park also features trails, picnic shelters, restrooms, and a swimming area for dogs. All dogs must be licensed and up to date on vaccines.
Or, sip a pint with your pooch by your side in downtown Detroit at Jolly Pumpkin Detroit on Canfield Street. Try one of Jolly Pumpkin’s delicious pizzas and stroll over to the Midtown Dog Park on the corner of Canfield and Cass after you finish to let your dog work out some energy.
Dogs are also welcome on the large patio at Atwater in the Park in Grosse Pointe Park. This former church now offers handcrafted beer and spirits as well as a full menu.
