   Outdoor Enthusiast
Experience the great outdoors on horseback! This family-friendly activity provides an opportunity to view nature from a slightly taller perspective. Maple Ridge Stables in Vanderbilt has guided trail tours, camps, special events, and lessons. There is something for every rider to enjoy.
Afterwards, head south on Interstate 75 to Lewiston for dinner at the Lewiston Lodge. Grab a seat on the patio to watch the sunset over East Twin Lake.
Foodie
If you’re craving seafood, head to Michigan’s Thumb region. Along the coastline, you’ll
find a multitude of locally owned restaurants specializing in lake fish. Captain Morgan’s Grindstone Resort in Grindstone City allows patrons to bring their own fresh-caught fish to be fried up or grilled. Anglers rejoice!
If you want a more upscale experience, make yourself a reservation at Real Seafood Co. in Bay City. Nestled along the Saginaw River, diners are offered a vast selection of premium ocean-caught and Great Lakes seafood options. Come early to enjoy their $4 happy hour drink specials.
Dog Owner
Let Fido burn off some energy at the Midland Dog Park. They can run and explore four acres of fenced-in wooded and open areas while making friends and showing off their skills on the agility course. After a long day of traveling, you’ll both be grateful for the exercise!
They even have a separate area for smaller dogs, so they can enjoy the outdoors at their own pace with dogs their own size.
