Things to do in the Upper Peninsula Region
1. Walk the beach at Eagle Harbor Lighthouse.
2. Grab a drink at OreDocks brewery in Marquette – and walk the old ore docks, the inspiration for the brewery’s name.
3. Go on a boat tour at the Pictured Rocks National Lakeshore.
4. Get a picture with Paul Bunyan.
5. Dip your toes in Lake Superior, and look for agate stones along the beach.
6. Be in a fairy tale as you’re surrounded by a plethora of butterflies at Mackinac Island’s Butterfly House.
7. Pick up some monk-made preserves at Jampot. You can’t call ahead – there’s no phone, so you’ll have to stop by.
8. Visit the infamous Pickle Barrel House in Grand Marais.
