just need a change? Four DIY projects
are presented to inspire your interior decorating aspirations. The Michigan DNR, one of our best partners, is featured in an article about their various welcome centers, which host exhibits and events as well as mark the starting points for some of Michigan’s best trail systems. Many
of these articles point to other articles you can find online on our website, MichiganRVandCampgrounds.org, which you can access anytime, anywhere, from any device.
A significant event occurred in 2018 that must be mentioned as well: the Michigan legislature authorized “Sales Tax on the Difference.” In brief, it’s tax relief. You can read more about this win for RVers on page 54 of this issue. MARVAC was key in these efforts, effectively leading the charge.
This will help more

Here’s to the adventures ahead!
Scott Dodge, President
Michigan is gaining a lot of RV and your home. Feeling crafty or
attention these days, especially
northern Michigan. Traverse City got a nod from the New York Times in late July 2018 in an article by Steve Reddicliffe: “36 Hours in Traverse City, Mich.” The article features many activities that can
be experienced in the Cherry Capital, a taste of all there is to enjoy across the state: sailing, water sports, wine tasting, gourmet dining, hiking trails, kayaking, swimming... the list goes on. And everywhere you go, local culture reigns. That’s what makes Michigan such a joy
to travel.
This annual edition of Michigan RV & Campgrounds introduces you to some of these activities in the various regions of the Mitten. Most of these ideas can be discovered in our regional driving tours, located on the back of the foldout maps. You’ll notice six maps compared to five as provided in years past; we
felt that the central portion of Michigan deserved recognition of its own. This also helps us to better display our member campgrounds, parks, resorts, dealers,
and suppliers.
What else will you find in this issue? Delectable breakfast recipes that will entice even the sleepiest camper out of bed. Tips on how to best protect your
